With mixed emotions.
Economically:
People understand that its a big neighbor that you want to be friends with and not piss off, and it is a source of great wealth for South Koreans (as a trading partner, as a place to do business, etc.)
They also understand that it is a giant that is building steam and effectively competing with Korea in many areas of business so we see them as a competitor.
The sheer awe of scale.  People understand that this country is a ginormous monster of a powerhouse.  The typical expression: "their middle class, which is a sliver of their entire population, is larger than our entire Korean population".
Culturally:
Folks recognize there is a lot of cultural cross pollenization and cultural influence from China.  Historically a lot of cultural elements were from the Chinese.  At the same time we are proud of our cultural independence and uniqueness that has formed over centuries and today we seem to have a superiority complex over the Chinese, as far as cultural suaveness goes.
Politically:
There is a lot of envy here.  The size and might of the country lets China face off against the US, Russia and Japan on equal terms.  Not so for Korea, given its position inbetween China and Japan, its dependence on foreign trade with US and China and Japan, and the military presence (dependent on US for a meaningful part of military capabilities)

I cannot speak for Koreans explicitly, as I'm not Korean myself, but I've had some interesting conversations with my students about their Asian neighbors. As far as their views on China are concerned, I think that they are quite aware of China's power, economically or otherwise. It seems that many of them have no opinion whatsoever, as plenty seem to simply shrug and say something to the effect of, "Eh,The Chinese are the Chinese," when asked. However, the most common statement about China is that it is "dirty," which is quite an ironic statement, given the state of many Korean streets. It seems that Koreans tend to feel superior to their other Asian neighbors, a feeling probably born out of their recent struggle for independence and rapid technological advancements. This is not to say that Koreans hate Chinese, or think that they are a lesser people, but I think Koreans are fiercely independent as a nation, although not as individuals.
When asked about the Japanese, however, most of my students become immediately defensive, and seem to have an intense dislike for them and their culture. This is certainly not true of all Koreans, but I think many have inherited feeling of bitterness regarding the Japanese occupation of Korea.

Like others have pointed out, with mixed feelings.
Pros
China is an economic giant and we have strong ties with each other (not US-China level but pretty decent enough for a small country).
Their large population makes it have a lot of potential to be diverse and interesting.
Lots of fun places to visit.
Rich history
Awesome infrastructure in major cities and second tier cities (most East Asian nations have this in common, but China has it big due to its sheer size).
Cons
Some folks in the government and general population still have old tributary system in their minds as a system that should be implemented in 21st century.
Less developed in the western regions.
Authoritarian
Socially conservative
Recent THAAD sanctions had made me distrust China as a reliable trading partner (even though that sanction is short-term).
The Great Firewall of China
Not that thrilled about North Korean sanctions, and still rejecting stronger sanctions proposed by United States and United Nations. This causes other South Koreans to have an at least, feeling of annoyance, and at max, maybe fierce hatred (I personally don’t hate China).
Overall
I’m mostly upset about the Chinese government, and some overly nationalistic folks, but rest is fine. Maybe after a decade or two, we could agree with each other more.

Koreans generally like Chinese people, but increasingly people are concerned about rising imperialism of Chinese Communist Party.
Generally though, Koreans understand China better than most other nations, and understand China’s goal better. This means Koreans are far more comfortable with the idea of strong China. Having said that, the recent events between Korean and China definitely negatively effected the way Koreans think of Chinese government.
I would also say just about all developed nations respect China as a nation, but the level of respect often takes a step down when it’s about a Chinese individual. Common perception of what makes China great is that there are so many people there, so even if individual talents are generally nothing to write home about, the collective might is something that is respected. This will explain why Chinese people are often treated poorly in many places around the world, while China as a nation is well respected.
